Welcome to UMCAP!

The mission of the University of Minnesota Center for Applied Phenomics is to develop opportunities to utilize phenomics for agricultural research at the University of Minnesota. Advances in remote sensing and robotics provide opportunities for high-throughput collection of data on plant traits. Widespread collection of plant phenotype data can be used to perform basic and applied research to develop optimal plant varieties and will also be important for improvement of agricultural practices to increase productivity while minimizing the adverse environmental effects of agriculture. The Center for Applied Phenomics is a network of researchers at the University of Minnesota that are developing and applying phenomics approaches and is working to improve training opportunities and access to phenotyping equipment and methods.
